audition required

Advanced Students 12 years and up are chosen by audition. Students selected will be given further opportunities to grow and progress in a company atmosphere. Dancers will have the unique opportunity of learning repertoire, working with choreographers and master teachers. The students will be involved in various performing opportunities including all of Utah Regional Ballet productions and Regional Dance America Festival held each spring. URB II has also had the opportunity to tour to Europe and take part in the International Young Tanzsommer Festival in Innsbruk Austria, and a cultural exchange program, performing in Bejing China. From this division, all of URB II students are mentored through the audition processes as they continue to further their studies at a University program, or auditioning for a professional company to have a career in the dance world. Many of URB II dancers are offered positions with Utah Regional Ballet’s professional company, which is in residency at Utah Valley University.

Utah Regional Ballet II company members will have the opportunity to perform in all of Utah Regional Ballet productions. Performances will include the Nutcracker, a full length production, some may include Cinderella, Swan Lake, Coppelia, A mid Summer nights dream, Peter Pan and Snow White. URBII will also perform in a Repertory Concert as well as Utah Regional Ballet's Choreography Design Competition. URBII dancers are also involved in performing in JSB's Contemporary Company performance each Spring.

Classical Competition Company

Students showing exceptional abilities in their ballet training, may be invited to participate in private coaching sessions, in which they will be able to compete at the Youth America Grand Prix Ballet Competitions, World Ballet Competition and the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland. Many of JSB’s students have been offered scholarships and contracts to top leading ballet companies word wide to help them further their career in dance. JSB has been awarded the "Outstanding School" and "OutstandingTeacher" award for several years, while in attendance at these Competitions.

Contemporary Competition Company

With training rooted in classical ballet, select advanced students demonstrating talent for contemporary dance, will be able to refine their skills in modern dance. Through weekly classes, students will study specific techniques, including, Limon, Graham and Horton technique, to help them become more versatile in the professional industry. Students will also work with renown choreographers and have the opportunity to compete in either the Youth America Grand Prix or the World Ballet Competition, Ensemble Category. JSB's Contemporary Competition Company will also perform in the JSB Spring Recital.
